Back in 1968, Mr. George Bray organized a hockey program for young people with special learning needs. The George Bray Sports Association was then started to provide a program for in special learning classes in elementary or secondary schools.
The GBSA is still active today, providing kids with special needs the chance to develop confidence & sense of participation through hockey. We focus on the fun of hockey, not the competition, so each player is provided equal ice time, regardless of ability.
Our league is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Coaches, referees, timekeepers and the executive team are all volunteers who freely give many hours to our organization.
